RCEP engine's international logistics development has shown preliminary results


The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) was officially implemented on January 1. Because the area covered by it is a free trade zone with a large population, large economic and trade scale and potential for development, it has attracted wide attention from various fields. As a foreign trade import and export cargo transportation service provider and an important main body of the global supply chain logistics chain, the international freight forwarding logistics industry has started the discussion and practice of RCEP opportunities since the signing of RCEP at the end of 2020, and has become a pioneer in the high-quality development of RCEP. .

Industry organizations pave the way

On December 8, 2020, ASEAN Federation of Freight Associations (AFFA) and China International Freight Association (CIFA) held an industry regional cooperation meeting online. Exchanges and discussions on promoting the development of the industry between China and ASEAN and strengthening cooperation between the two sides, and on promoting one-stop cargo clearance and settlement, seamless connection of land-sea multimodal transport, realization of a single window, industry training, and establishment of enterprise exchange platforms, etc. We will cooperate with each other to help reduce costs and increase efficiency in logistics, strive to create a favorable market environment, effectively guide member companies of both parties to seize opportunities, and make active preparations for accelerating the implementation of RCEP.

The meeting two weeks after the signing of RCEP will be a milestone in the development of goods circulation between the two parties and the region. On December 21, 2021, at the 31st plenary meeting of AFFA, Mr. Yukki N. Hanafi, chairman of AFFA, and relevant CIFA officials said that with the upcoming RCEP as a major development opportunity, the two sides will strengthen pragmatic cooperation and further consolidate China. - Foundation for cooperation and development in the field of ASEAN international freight forwarding and logistics.

In 2021, my country's imports and exports to ASEAN will be 5.67 trillion yuan, a growth rate of 19.7%. ASEAN, as my country's largest trading partner, has brought strong growth potential to the international supply chain logistics chain under the superimposed effect of RCEP tax reduction and fee reduction and the ASEAN agreement.

International logistics is an active participant in the pilot and trial of RCEP policies. To help import and export enterprises make good use of RCEP discounts, apply for certificates of origin, and provide full-chain services for import and export transportation of goods, they must first learn to understand policies. .

In order to strengthen the interpretation and training of RCEP-related content in the international logistics industry, enhance enterprises' understanding of the significance of RCEP, and guide enterprises to seize opportunities and follow up services, the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Transport support industry organizations to play a role, and carry out extensive interpretations in the industry training. China International Freight Association, China Shipowners Association, China International Trade Association, etc., have organized industry enterprises to learn and grasp the important content of the agreement for many times, and held discussions around industry opportunities.
